Suzhou Municipal Hospital

Suzhou Municipal Hospital, affiliated with Nanjing Medical University, has developed over more than seven decades into a municipal Grade A tertiary comprehensive hospital undertaking medical care, teaching, research, and public welfare functions. As a national-level standardized training base for resident physicians, general practitioners, clinical pharmacists, and midwives, the hospital plays a vital role in medical talent cultivation. The hospital has established a clinical internship partnership with Duke University in the United States and, as a national advanced collective for foreign aid medical services, has accumulated extensive experience in international medical exchange. The hospital currently operates multiple campuses including Daoqian, Baita, Shantang, and Rehabilitation, along with an independent teaching and training base, with Taihu General Hospital and Maternal and Child Health Campus under construction. With over 3,000 open beds, the hospital offers comprehensive clinical departments including 21 provincial-level key specialties, 36 municipal-level key clinical specialties, 6 Suzhou Clinical Medical Centers, 7 Suzhou Key Laboratories, and 1 national key laboratory branch center. Key strengths include Ultrasound, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics, and Critical Care Medicine as provincial key specialties, while the Assisted Reproductive Medicine Center, Neonatal Disease Diagnosis Center, Child Health Care, and Genetics Medicine Center are provincial key maternal and child health disciplines. The Maternal and Child Health Center, the largest of its kind in Southern Jiangsu, features provincial-leading assisted reproductive technology and critical maternal care capabilities. The hospital has received the WHO "Healthy City Maternal and Child Health Excellent Practice Award" and numerous honors including National Civilized Unit, National Advanced Collective for Foreign Aid Medical Services, National March 8th Red Banner Collective, and National Maternal and Child Safety Quality Service Unit.
