About the Hospital
Changzhou Fourth People's Hospital (Changzhou Tumor Hospital) was founded in 1946 and has evolved over 78 years from a general hospital into a tertiary Grade B tumor specialty hospital featuring oncology diagnosis and treatment. Affiliated with Soochow University as Changzhou Tumor Hospital, it undertakes comprehensive functions integrating medical care, teaching, research, prevention, and rehabilitation, and serves as a national drug clinical trial institution. The hospital is now located at 68 Honghe Road, Xinbei District (the Huaide campus was relocated and merged in 2020), with 769 open beds, housing tumor internal medicine, tumor surgery, radiotherapy and other oncology specialties alongside general departments including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics, with tumor internal medicine designated as a Changzhou municipal key clinical discipline and 7 other municipal key clinical specialties. The hospital has assembled a professional medical team and established high-end expert platforms including the Zhang Guozhen Lung Micronodule Diagnosis and Treatment Center Changzhou Branch and Shao Zhimin Team Workstation, accumulating rich experience in thoracic tumor diagnosis and treatment. Notably, in 2015 the hospital opened a one-stop international diagnosis and treatment center providing multilingual medical services for expatriates in Changzhou High-tech Zone, establishing direct billing cooperation with over 40 insurance companies and accumulating extensive international service experience. Additionally, the hospital houses a Menghe Medical School Inheritance Studio preserving traditional Chinese medicine heritage. As a master's and doctoral training point for Soochow University and a teaching hospital for Xuzhou Medical University, the hospital plays an important role in medical talent cultivation, receiving honors including Changzhou Civilized Unit, Changzhou May 1st Labor Medal, and Jiangsu Model Workers' Home. The hospital completed the on-site review for tertiary Grade A tumor hospital in 2021 and is progressing towards that goal.
