About the Hospital
Changzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1956, rooted in the birthplace of China's renowned Menghe Medical School. Over nearly seven decades of development, it has grown from a simple TCM joint clinic into a Grade A tertiary comprehensive TCM hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, preventive healthcare, and rehabilitation. As a "13th Five-Year Plan" National Inheritance Innovation Project Key Construction TCM Hospital, National Menghe Medical School Inheritance Base, and National Menghe Medical School TCM Herbal Pieces Characteristic Processing Technology Inheritance Base, the hospital holds an important position in TCM inheritance and innovation. The hospital is dedicated to the academic inheritance and development of Menghe Medical School, having established the Menghe Medical Research Institute and Menghe Medical School Inheritance Studio to systematically excavate and organize the school's development history, academic thoughts, clinical experience, and herbal processing techniques. In international medical cooperation, the hospital has established the UK Royal Academy of Medicine Academician Ke Songxuan Workstation and the European Acupuncture Academy China Clinical College, with direct payment cooperation with multiple international insurance companies including MSH, BUPA, China Merchants Cigna, and Taiping Anlian Health. The hospital currently operates three campuses: the main hospital, south campus, and Changzhou Stomatological Hospital, with a total area of 35,600 square meters, building area of 126,700 square meters, 1,000 actual open beds, and 102 dental chairs. It has 76 clinical and medical technology departments, with annual visits reaching 1.51 million, 35,700 inpatients treated, 21,000 surgeries performed, and equipment valued at 230 million yuan. Key specialties include the Cardiovascular Department as a National Health Commission Key Specialty and National TCM Key Clinical Specialty, Orthopedics as a National TCM Key Clinical Specialty, and Spleen and Stomach Diseases, Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Nephrology, Proctology, and Encephalopathy as Provincial TCM Key Clinical Specialties. The Acupuncture and Tuina Department is an East China Regional TCM Acupuncture Diagnosis and Treatment Center Alliance Construction Unit, with "Lanling Cheng's Acupuncture" recognized as Changzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage. As an affiliated hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, the hospital serves as a teaching practice base for 12 higher education institutions including Nanjing Medical University and Macau University of Science and Technology, a National Health Commission Resident Standardized Training Base, National TCM General Practitioner Training Base, and Jiangsu Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base. The hospital has been ranked in the Hong Kong艾力彼 National TCM Hospital Comprehensive Strength Top 50 for three consecutive years and received the National TCM Culture Publicity and Education Base honor.
