Subei People's Hospital

Subei People's Hospital was founded in 1900, formerly known as Yangzhou Baptist Hospital established by the American Baptist Mission. It is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital in the Yangzhou area, and was rated as one of the first nine tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospitals in the province in 1994. With 2,521 approved beds, the hospital currently operates under a "one hospital, two campuses" model. The main campus is located at No. 98 Nantong West Road, Yangzhou, while the Development Zone Branch began operation in January 2024 with 460 beds currently available. Upon full operation, the total bed capacity will reach 3,800. The hospital possesses 32 provincial key clinical specialties (including one under development), 25 municipal key clinical specialties, and 2 national key clinical specialty construction units (Critical Care Medicine and General Surgery), as well as 3 Jiangsu Province "14th Five-Year Plan" medical key discipline construction units. The hospital has received A+ rating in the national performance assessment of tertiary public hospitals for 7 consecutive years, with a best ranking of 48th nationwide and 3rd in the province, and is the first hospital in Jiangsu to pass both electronic medical record level 6 and smart service level 4 accreditation. As a network hospital of the Ministry of Health International Emergency Rescue Center, a national stem cell clinical research institution with dual filing, and one of the first sentinel hospitals for standardized quality management of day medical care designated by the National Health Commission, it operates a national postdoctoral research workstation undertaking doctoral and master's degree student training for multiple universities including Yangzhou University, Nanjing University, Nanjing Medical University, and Dalian Medical University. The hospital has been honored as a National Civilized Unit, National Health System Advanced Collective, National Spiritual Civilization Construction Advanced Unit, National March 8th Red Banner Collective, National Reform and Innovation Hospital, National "Medical Service Improvement Demonstration Unit," National Talent Introduction Demonstration Unit, Provincial Advanced Collective in the Fight Against COVID-19, and National Outstanding Collective in Hospital Safety Management. The hospital currently employs over 3,300 staff members, including more than 3,000 healthcare professionals, with 258 doctoral degrees and 1,029 master's degrees.
