Jiangsu Second Hospital of Chinese Medicine (The Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine) was established in December 1988. It is a provincial-level public comprehensive Grade A TCM hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, and preventive healthcare, and after nearly forty years of development, has become an important force in Jiangsu's TCM field. The hospital comprises multiple campuses including the main hospital, Beiyu Road Outpatient Department, Liancheng Health Management Center, and TCM Rehabilitation Center, with the latter having a building area of approximately 6,000 square meters. It operates 38 clinical departments and 11 medical technology departments. The Spleen and Stomach Disease Department, as a National-level TCM Advantage Specialty Construction Unit and Jiangsu Provincial TCM Key Discipline, together with the TCM Rehabilitation Department (National-level TCM Rehabilitation Center Construction Unit) and the Acupuncture and Tuina Departments (Provincial Key TCM Specialties), forms the hospital's characteristic advantage discipline cluster. As Jiangsu Provincial Hospital for International Education and Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine International Education College's "Excellent Overseas Student Clinical Teaching Base," the hospital undertakes overseas student clinical teaching and provides rich TCM characteristic therapies including acupuncture and tuina, moxibustion, acupoint injection, acupoint application, ear acupressure, foot bath, scraping, and moxa therapy. Upholding TCM traditions, the hospital inherits and develops Wenbing and Chengjiang TCM schools, houses 8 national and provincial famous TCM expert inheritance studios and 9 teaching departments, and as Jiangsu Provincial TCM Rehabilitation Quality Control Center, Jiangsu Provincial TCM Rehabilitation Specialty Alliance leading unit, and Yangtze River Delta Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine Brain Rehabilitation Collaborative Innovation Alliance chair unit, plays a leading role in the TCM rehabilitation field.
