Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, founded in 1956, is affiliated with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It passed the tertiary A-level TCM hospital accreditation in 2008 and is the only hospital in Fujian Province selected for the National Regional Medical Center and the first National TCM Service Export Base in the province. The hospital covers an area of 82,000 m² with a building area of 109,000 m², 1,200 approved beds, and 1,420 employees, including 3 experts receiving special allowance from the State Council, 3 national renowned TCM experts, and 6 provincial renowned TCM experts. The hospital has complete clinical departments including Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Acupuncture, Orthopedics, Proctology, Tuina, Rehabilitation, and Preventive Treatment, with 1 National Key Discipline (TCM Liver and Gallbladder Diseases) and 7 National Key Specialties. In June 2022, the International Medical Department and TCM Medical Technology Center were officially opened, covering approximately 430 m² with 8 VIP consultation rooms, gathering top TCM experts nationwide and specialists from Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine for regular consultations, offering over 40 TCM characteristic therapies including acupuncture, tuina, fire dragon cup, governor vessel moxibustion, and more. The hospital has participated in the China International Fair for Trade in Services for four consecutive years, building a "Two Centers, Three Bases" TCM service export system, providing high-quality TCM services for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao compatriots, overseas Chinese, and international patients, serving as the Cross-Strait TCM Cooperation Development Center and Exchange Base.
