About the Hospital
Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, founded in 1860, originated from the merger of Fuzhou Sacred Heart Hospital and Fuzhou Magwye Hospital, becoming the cradle of modern medicine in Fujian Province. It has developed into a comprehensive tertiary A-level hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and healthcare. The hospital serves as a National Comprehensive Regional Medical Center and National Cardiovascular Disease Regional Medical Center, ranked 92nd in the Fudan Hospital Rankings, with its CMI (Case Mix Index) value ranking among the top nationwide and first in Fujian Province. The hospital employs over 5,000 staff members, including nearly 700 with senior professional titles, operates four campuses including Yushan, Qishan, Pingtan, and Mazu, with over 2,500 beds, serving 2.12 million outpatient visits and 180,000 inpatient admissions annually, performing over 140,000 surgeries.
