The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University

The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, also known as Zhejiang Provincial Wenzhou First Hospital, was established in 1919 and is one of the first four hospitals in Zhejiang Province to pass the tertiary A-level accreditation, shouldering the vital mission of providing quality healthcare services to 30 million people in Southern Zhejiang, Northern Fujian, and Eastern Jiangxi. Upholding the motto of "Rigor, Truth-seeking, Innovation, and Dedication" and carrying forward over a century of medical heritage, the hospital ranks 66th among China's Top 100 Hospitals and serves as the core affiliated hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. The hospital operates both a new campus and an old campus, with the new campus located in Nanbaixiang, Ouhai District, equipped with modern medical facilities and a comprehensive clinical environment. Key departments include Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, and Reproductive Medicine Center, with multiple National Clinical Key Specialties and Zhejiang Provincial Key Disciplines. The Cardiovascular Medicine Department is an American Heart Association (AHA) China Professional Demonstration Center, while the Cardiac Surgery Department houses the China-Canada Joint Heart Center, with regular guidance from Professor Ye Jian, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, bringing cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment to internationally advanced levels. The Precision Medicine Center is led by Professor Matthew Brown, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Sciences, as Chief Scientist, and Professor Zhang Jinsan from Mayo Clinic as Technical Director, conducting internationally leading precision medicine research and applications. As a National Traditional Chinese Medicine Service Export Base, the hospital actively promotes the internationalization of TCM services, serving as a leading medical institution in Southern Zhejiang.
