About the Hospital
Zhejiang Provincial Tongde Hospital is a large-scale tertiary Grade-A hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine directly affiliated to the Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission, a National Key Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and a construction unit of National Key Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute. Established in 1999 through the merger of the former Zhejiang Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital and Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Mental Health, the hospital has developed over more than twenty years into a modern comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, scientific research, teaching, prevention, and rehabilitation, shouldering the vital mission of safeguarding the physical and mental health of people in Zhejiang and surrounding regions. Upholding the hospital motto of "Unity, Benevolence, Sincerity, and Innovation," inheriting the essence of traditional Chinese medicine, and integrating modern medical technology, the hospital has formed a distinctive discipline cluster featuring integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in mental health, geriatrics, and rehabilitation medicine. With four campuses (Cuiyuan, Tianmushan, Xianlin, and Zhijiang), over 1,500 authorized beds, and more than 40 clinical departments including Psychiatry, Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Traditional Chinese Internal Medicine, and Acupuncture and Tuina, the hospital employs over 2,000 medical staff. The Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Psychiatry Department is a National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Unit with outstanding mental health service capabilities. The Geriatrics Department is a Zhejiang Provincial Medical Key Specialty with distinctive features in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment for geriatric diseases. The hospital actively conducts international medical cooperation, having established friendly partnerships with Keck Medicine of USC (USA), Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Senese (Italy), Dongshin University and Kyung Hee University (South Korea), Taipei Medical University Hospital (Taiwan), and Hong Kong University School of Chinese Medicine. As the supporting unit of Zhejiang Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the affiliated unit of Zhejiang Provincial Mental Health Center, the hospital undertakes National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine key discipline construction and research projects, trains doctoral and master's students, handles over 2 million annual outpatient visits, and has received honors including National Civilized Unit and Zhejiang Provincial Civilized Unit.
