Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine

Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine (The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University) was founded in 1931 as Zhejiang Provincial Hospital, the first provincial-level public hospital in Zhejiang Province. After introducing renowned TCM practitioners from across the province in 1956, it was renamed Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. After more than 90 years of development, it has become one of the first batch of modern comprehensive Grade-A tertiary TCM hospitals in China, with comprehensive strength ranking among the top in the national TCM system. The hospital has 4,600 approved beds, over 40 clinical departments, more than 200 specialty clinics, and nearly 4 million annual outpatient visits. It holds 5 national clinical key specialties, 9 key disciplines of the State Administration of TCM, 14 key specialties of the State Administration of TCM, and 13 provincial key specialties. The hospital inherits nine major TCM academic schools with renowned doctors and profound academic heritage, including 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2 National TCM Masters, and 2 National Famous TCM Doctors. As one of the first batch of National TCM Clinical Research Base Construction Units, National Key Difficult Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center, and National TCM International Cooperation Base Construction Units, the hospital established the China-Israel TCM Center. The International Medical Center is located on the 3rd floor of the outpatient building at Hubin Campus, having served over 3,000 trainees from more than 20 countries. The hospital hosted the "International TCM Cultural Experience Tour" project for the Asian Games and compiled the English version of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Handbook," playing an important role in TCM internationalization, providing international patients with traditional therapies such as acupuncture, tuina, cupping, and consultations with renowned TCM doctors.
