About the Hospital
Shulan (Hangzhou) Hospital, also known as Zhejiang University International Hospital, was established in 2015 as a tertiary A-level comprehensive hospital initiated by a team of academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, dedicated to providing international high-end medical services for domestic and foreign patients. Upholding the motto of "Benevolence and Excellence" and inheriting medical humanistic values, the hospital is the first large-scale social comprehensive hospital in China to pass JCI 6th Edition accreditation, and was recognized as one of Hangzhou's first International Hospitals in 2021. With 1,000 authorized beds and over 1,000 employees, the hospital features key departments including Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Gastrointestinal and Breast Surgery, Hematology, Gynecology, Critical Care Medicine, and Medical Oncology. The Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department is the flagship specialty, operating the Shulan International Organ Transplant Center with qualifications for liver, kidney, heart, and lung transplantation. The hospital has established deep partnerships with internationally renowned medical institutions including UCLA, Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, and Macau University of Science and Technology. Equipped with the fourth-generation da Vinci Xi Surgical System, the hospital performs robot-assisted minimally invasive surgeries and has created the Shulan Consultation-iMDT platform for global collaborative diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases. As a Hangzhou International Hospital, it provides international medical insurance services, English and multilingual medical services for foreign patients, serving as a benchmark for social hospitals in Zhejiang Province.
