About the Hospital
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (SAHZU), established in 1869, is one of the earliest Western medicine hospitals in China and a comprehensive Grade-A tertiary hospital. It achieved JCI accreditation in 2013. The hospital operates three campuses: Jiefang Road (headquarters), Binjiang, and Chengdong, with leading specialties including Cardiology (national leader in transcatheter intervention), Ophthalmology (cataract diagnosis and treatment), Emergency Trauma Care, Multidisciplinary Colorectal Cancer Treatment, Burn Surgery, and Neurosurgery. As a pioneer in telemedicine in China, the hospital operates the largest international telemedicine center in the country, providing remote consultation services with UCLA and other international medical institutions. The International Medical Department has over 600 English-fluent specialists and maintains direct billing partnerships with more than 20 international insurance companies including Cigna, Ping An Health, International SOS, and MSH China, providing comprehensive services including outpatient care, hospitalization, health examinations, surgical treatment, and international insurance direct billing.
