About the Hospital
Kunming Tongren Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, and rehabilitation. As the home of the International Spinal Cord Injury Treatment Center, it is also the first private hospital in Yunnan Province to establish an academician workstation. Founded in 2010 and built to tertiary hospital standards, the hospital was established with the vision of "becoming a leading international hospital in Southwest China." Over more than a decade, the hospital has developed a healthcare philosophy of "patient-centered, quality-focused," earning the reputation as "a place of hope for spinal cord injury patients." Located in Kunming Dianchi National Tourism Resort, the hospital covers 286 acres, with 1,000 designed beds (500 currently operational), nearly 1,000 employees, and over 40 clinical and medical technology departments. The International Spinal Cord Injury Treatment Center, led by Director Zhu Hui, has treated over 5,000 spinal cord injury patients and developed the innovative "Kunming Walking Training" rehabilitation method, achieving internationally leading results. For international medical services, the Su Guohua Academician Workstation was established in 2017, serving patients from the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and other countries, providing one-stop services including visa assistance, airport pickup, translation, and accommodation. Passing the tertiary Grade-A hospital review in 2023, the hospital serves hundreds of thousands of outpatient visits annually and has received honors including Yunnan Province's First Private Hospital Academician Workstation.
