The First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University (Yunda Hospital) is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As the location of the Yunnan International Diagnosis and Treatment Healthcare Cooperation Center and a network hospital of the International Emergency Rescue Center (SOS), it undertakes foreign guest healthcare and overseas emergency rescue missions. Founded in 1941 as the Affiliated Hospital of the National Yunnan University School of Medicine, it is one of the earliest medical school affiliated hospitals in Yunnan. Over 80 years, the hospital has developed the spirit of "Virtue, Medical Excellence, Diligence, Learning" and is acclaimed as "the cradle of Yunnan's medical enterprise." As the Yunnan International Diagnosis and Treatment Healthcare Cooperation Center, the hospital serves foreigners in Yunnan and patients from South and Southeast Asia, having conducted 8 "Bright Journey" missions to Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam for free cataract surgeries benefiting over 1,200 patients, twice receiving the "National Advanced Unit for Foreign Medical Aid Work" honor.
