About the Hospital
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As a designated network hospital of the International Emergency Rescue Center (SOS), it undertakes medical healthcare for foreign guests and emergency rescue tasks for overseas personnel. Founded in 1952 as Kunming Workers' Hospital, it has developed over 70 years with a spirit of rigor and innovation, recognized as a leading medical institution in urology and hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery in Yunnan Province. Located on Dianmian Avenue in Wuhua District, Kunming, the hospital has 2,255 beds, over 40 clinical departments, and 3,472 employees including 48 doctoral supervisors and 257 master's supervisors. It holds 3 National Clinical Key Specialties: Critical Care Medicine, Urology, and Neurology. Urology and hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery are featured specialties with rich experience in complex and difficult cases. As the leading institution of the "Golden Bridge" International Urological Surgery Alliance, the hospital has successfully organized 11 international urology conferences, conducting extensive academic exchanges with domestic and international colleagues. The hospital has sent 3 medical teams to Uganda and multiple teams for cataract restoration projects in Myanmar, contributing actively to international medical assistance.
