Shandong Provincial Hospital, founded in 1897, is affiliated with Shandong First Medical University and serves as a large-scale tertiary A comprehensive hospital directly under the Shandong Provincial Health Commission, fulfilling the important function of a provincial medical center. The International Medical Department, officially opened in November 2021 with approval from the Provincial Party Committee and Government, serves as an important window for international medical services in Shandong Province. After more than a century of development, the hospital upholds the spirit of "integrity, benevolence, harmony, and progress" and has become a large modern comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, and preventive healthcare, with its overall ranking consistently among the top in the nation in the Fudan University Hospital Rankings. The hospital operates two major campuses—Central Campus and East Campus—with over 3,000 beds, more than 100 clinical and medical technology departments, including 17 National Clinical Key Specialties. The Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism ranks 6th nationally in Fudan specialty rankings, while Cardiac Surgery ranks among the top 15 in China.
