The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. It is home to the National Medical Center for Mental Diseases and serves as the Second Affiliated Hospital of Central South University. Founded in 1958 as the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical College, it was renamed in 2000 following the establishment of Central South University. Over sixty years of development have shaped the hospital spirit of "Benevolence, Rigor, Truth-seeking, and Innovation." Located at 139 Renmin Middle Road, Furong District, Changsha, with over 3,000 beds, 30+ clinical departments, and 4,000+ employees, the hospital excels in Psychiatry, which is designated as the National Medical Center for Mental Diseases. Metabolic Diseases is a National Clinical Key Specialty, while Cardiology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, and Neurology maintain strong capabilities.
