About the Hospital
Hunan Children's Hospital is a tertiary Grade-A children's specialized hospital integrating medical care, prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation, research, and teaching. It serves as the largest children's medical center in Hunan Province and the provincial children's emergency center. Founded in 1987 and developing over nearly forty years, the hospital upholds the service philosophy of "Everything for the children" and has established a disciplinary system centered on pediatric internal medicine, pediatric surgery, and neonatology. Located in Yuhua District, Changsha, the main campus has over 1,000 beds, more than 30 clinical and medical technology departments including pediatric internal medicine, pediatric surgery, neonatology, child health care, and child rehabilitation, and over 2,000 employees. Pediatric internal medicine, pediatric surgery, and neonatology are provincial key specialties, with complete sub-specialties including pediatric respiratory medicine, pediatric cardiology, and pediatric neurology. Pediatric orthopedics and pediatric urology have mature surgical techniques. As the provincial neonatal disease treatment center, the hospital undertakes provincial children's critical emergency treatment responsibilities, with advanced neonatal intensive care unit equipment. With over 1.5 million annual outpatient visits and over 30,000 annual hospitalizations, the hospital is designated by Hunan Provincial Health Commission as a provincial foreign-related medical service institution, providing specialized medical services for foreign children with commercial insurance direct billing. It has received honors including National Advanced Unit for Children's Health Services and Hunan Provincial Civilized Unit.
