About the Hospital
Hunan Provincial Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital is a tertiary Grade-A maternal and child health care institution integrating medical care, prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation, research, and teaching. It serves as the core institution for maternal and child healthcare in Hunan Province and the provincial technical guidance center for maternal and child health. Founded in 1947 and developing over seventy years, the hospital upholds the service philosophy of "Caring for mothers and infants, protecting life" and has established a disciplinary system centered on obstetrics, gynecology, and neonatology. Located in Kaifu District, Changsha, the main campus has over 800 beds, more than 20 clinical and medical technology departments including obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, neonatology, and reproductive medicine center, and over 1,500 employees. Obstetrics, gynecology, and neonatology are provincial key specialties. The reproductive medicine center offers assisted reproductive technologies including IVF, and the neonatal disease screening center covers the entire province. As a National Characteristic Specialized Unit for Perinatal Healthcare, the hospital undertakes provincial maternal emergency rescue and neonatal disease screening responsibilities. With over 1 million annual outpatient visits and nearly 10,000 annual deliveries, the hospital is designated by Hunan Provincial Health Commission as a provincial foreign-related medical service institution, providing specialized medical services for foreign women and children with commercial insurance direct billing. It has received honors including National Advanced Unit for Maternal and Child Health Services and Hunan Provincial Civilized Unit.
