Hunan Provincial People's Hospital

Hunan Provincial People's Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, and preventive healthcare. As a joint construction unit of the National Regional Medical Center by the National Health Commission and Hunan Province, it is also one of the medical institutions designated by the Hunan Provincial Health Commission to provide medical services for foreigners. Founded in 1912, it is one of the oldest public hospitals in Hunan Province. The International Medical Department officially began operation in May 2015, and in 2022 the hospital became the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University. For over a century, the hospital has upheld the spirit of "Benevolence, Rigor, Innovation, Dedication" and has become a leader in Hunan's healthcare sector. With three campuses—Tianxinge, Mawangdui, and Yuelushan—the hospital has over 3,000 beds, 50+ clinical departments, and 4,000+ employees. The main Tianxinge campus houses the International Medical Department on the first floor of the Comprehensive Building. Key specialties include hepatobiliary surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiology, gastroenterology, and burn and plastic surgery, with hepatobiliary surgery enjoying a national reputation. As a joint construction unit of the National Regional Medical Center, the hospital undertakes construction tasks for three regional medical centers: comprehensive, cardiovascular, and geriatric. The International Medical Department provides one-stop services in an independent and comfortable environment, including outpatient consultation, examinations, health check-ups, health management, functional rehabilitation, and inpatient care. The specialist clinic covers hepatobiliary surgery, cardiology, geriatrics, pediatrics, and otolaryngology. As an affiliated hospital of Hunan Normal University, it trains undergraduate and graduate students and serves as a national-level standardized residency training base. With over 2 million annual outpatient visits, the hospital has received honors including National Civilized Unit, National May 1st Labor Medal, and Hunan Provincial Civilized Unit.
