About the Hospital
Qiqihar First Hospital, established in 1911 during the third year of the Qing Dynasty's Xuantong reign, is the first government-run hospital in Heilongjiang Province's history. It now serves as the regional medical center for western Heilongjiang and the provincial intensive care treatment center. Having survived the late Qing Dynasty, Republic of China, and Anti-Japanese War periods, the hospital was officially renamed in 1956 and has developed into a large Grade-A tertiary comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, emergency response, prevention, scientific research, teaching, and rehabilitation. The hospital covers a total area of 300,000 square meters with three campuses: South Campus, North Campus, and Qingyun Branch, featuring 3,200 beds and over 4,100 employees. It houses 52 clinical departments and 21 medical technology departments, with 11 provincial key specialties and 42 municipal key specialties, excelling in cardiology, ICU, neurology, cardiothoracic surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery. The hospital pioneered organ transplantation in western Heilongjiang and performs advanced procedures including Da Vinci robotic surgery and 3D printing-assisted operations. As a national standardized residency training base with postdoctoral training programs, it has 104 master's degree supervisors. The hospital has received numerous national honors including the National Anti-COVID-19 Advanced Collective and National Civilized Unit. In January 2016, it became the only internationalized visual consultation center in the three northeastern provinces, collaborating with American Haoyiyou Medical Group for China-US remote consultations, and has partnerships with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and London Royal Hospital.
