About the Hospital
The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University, founded in 1938, is one of the four regional medical centers in Hebei Province. It has developed into a large provincial tertiary Grade-A general hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation and health care. The hospital covers an area of over 100,000 square meters with a building area of 170,000 square meters and 2,000 approved beds. It has 48 clinical departments and 12 medical technology departments, with 2,390 staff members including 46 doctors and 599 masters, and 345 senior professionals. Orthopedics is a provincial key discipline, and multiple departments including gynecology, thoracic surgery and neurology are provincial clinical key specialties. On November 1, 2021, the International Medical Department was officially put into operation as a key medical support project for the Winter Olympics, with a construction area of 5,040 square meters and an investment of over 38 million yuan, featuring comprehensive ICU wards, barrier-free wards and digital operating rooms. On December 31, 2025, the hospital was accredited as a "Designated International Medical Service Unit" of Hebei Province (jointly certified by the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Health Commission), with dedicated international medical coordinators providing one-stop services for foreign experts. The hospital handles nearly 1 million outpatient visits and 80,000 discharges annually, serving the border areas of Hebei, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia. Upholding the motto of "Benevolence, Virtue, Determination, Diligence" and promoting the Chahar Spirit, Bethune Spirit and Winter Olympics Spirit, the hospital has received honors including National Trustworthy Hospital for Patients and Hebei May 1st Labor Medal.
