The First Hospital of Hebei Medical University is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research, serving as an important medical service center in Hebei Province and a pioneer in "Belt and Road" medical assistance. Founded in 1971, the hospital has developed over more than 50 years with the spirit of "Sincerity, Love, Heritage, and Innovation." Professor Wang Zhen from the Department of Cardiology was awarded the "Presidential Medal of Honor" of Kyrgyzstan in September 2019, the highest national honor, becoming the first medical expert in Hebei Province to receive this distinction, highlighting the hospital's outstanding contribution to international medical assistance. Located at No. 89 Donggang Road, Shijiazhuang, the hospital has clinical departments including Cardiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Endocrinology, with congenital heart disease diagnosis and treatment as a distinctive specialty. In December 2018, the China-Kyrgyzstan Congenital Heart Disease Research Center was established at the hospital, becoming an important platform for medical cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan. Professor Wang Zhen has made 16 trips to Kyrgyzstan for medical assistance, treating over 530 children with congenital heart disease, earning him the reputation of "the Bethune on the Belt and Road." As an affiliated hospital of Hebei Medical University, it undertakes clinical medical talent training, with annual outpatient visits exceeding one million, and has received numerous provincial honors.
