The Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University

The Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University is a provincial Grade-A tertiary comprehensive hospital with a century of history, established in January 1918 as the affiliated clinic of Zhili Public Medical School. Integrating medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation, and emergency services, the hospital occupies a total area of 372,700 square meters with a building area of 566,800 square meters. It currently operates four campuses: the main campus, Luquan campus, North campus, and Shangzhuang campus. The hospital has 112 medical specialty departments, a designated capacity of 2,816 beds with 4,574 beds actually open, and in 2024 served 2.9743 million outpatient visits and 195,300 discharged patients. It possesses 11 national key clinical specialties, 33 provincial key clinical specialties, 6 national clinical medical research center branches, 9 provincial clinical medical research centers, and 10 provincial key laboratories. The hospital is home to renowned experts including Academician Li Chunyan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and National Medical Master Yao Xixian, and ranked 60th in the 2019 China Top 100 Hospitals list. As Hebei Province's first designated "Medical Care Hospital for Foreign Experts," it has established a Foreign Academician Workstation and provides dedicated green channel medical services for foreign experts working in Hebei. The hospital serves as the Second Clinical Medical College of Hebei Medical University with 16 doctoral degree programs and 34 master's degree programs, undertaking important medical talent training responsibilities.
