About the Hospital
The Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University is a large comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and preventive healthcare. Founded in 1941 with 3,500 open beds, it serves as an important clinical teaching base for Guizhou Medical University. The hospital is the birthplace of interventional medicine in China, with its Interventional Department boasting a long and prestigious history. With collaborations with nine academicians and established academician workstations, the hospital has strong research capabilities. Since March 2022, the hospital has been dispatching the Chinese medical team to the Solomon Islands, having sent five batches by 2025 and served over 37,000 patients. It was awarded the honorary title of "National Advanced Collective for Foreign Aid Medical Work" and signed a counterpart hospital cooperation mechanism memorandum with the National Referral Hospital of Solomon Islands. The hospital has nine national key specialties (including construction projects) and 30 provincial clinical key specialties, including Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Neurosurgery, and Cardiovascular Medicine. The hospital performs liver and kidney transplants and has the most Da Vinci robotic surgeries in the province.
