The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University Guangxi Hospital is a National Regional Medical Center construction project, jointly established by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, based on the East Campus of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Hospital. It is a major livelihood project in Guangxi's "14th Five-Year Plan". Located at No. 3 Foziling Road, Qingxiu District, Nanning, the hospital covers an area of approximately 157 mu, divided into two phases with a total planned capacity of 1,700 beds. Phase I has 500 beds, was inaugurated on January 7, 2023, and began independent operation on March 1, 2023. Phase II started construction in 2024, with 1,200 beds planned for completion in 2027. Upholding the medical motto of "Healing the body, healing the mind, healing the soul; Saving people, saving the nation, saving the world," the hospital is positioned as a model National Regional Medical Center that "bases in Guangxi, radiates to surrounding areas, connects nationally, and faces ASEAN." Leveraging Sun Yat-sen University First Affiliated Hospital's advantages in hospital management, medical technology, discipline construction, and talent cultivation, the hospital exports management models, technology, talent, and culture, establishing itself as a regional center for diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical diseases, a center for cultivating top leading talents, a center for medical science and technology innovation, and a center for external exchange and cooperation. Since its establishment, the hospital has successfully performed Guangxi's first ultrasound-CT fusion navigation-guided maxillofacial skull base parapharyngeal mass puncture biopsy, successfully treated a critically ill 4-year-old Vietnamese child with Pompe disease, and achieved multiple technological breakthroughs filling medical gaps in Guangxi. As a medical service hub facing ASEAN, the hospital is dedicated to building a new bond for the China-ASEAN health community.
