Beihai People's Hospital

Beihai People's Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As the designated foreign-related medical institution by the Beihai Municipal Government, it is one of the oldest Western medicine hospitals in China. Founded in 1886 by the British Missionary Society as Beihai Puren Hospital, it has witnessed the development of modern Chinese medicine. For 138 years, upholding the hospital spirit of "Benevolence, Sincerity, Innovation, Dedication," it has grown into the largest comprehensive hospital in Beihai. With two campuses (headquarters and Yintan), 1,200 beds, and 2,339 staff including 321 with senior titles, the hospital has developed Guangxi clinical key specialties in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, and Anesthesiology. As the supporting institution for China's first National Maritime Emergency Medical Rescue Team, the hospital undertakes medical rescue missions in the Beibu Gulf waters. The hospital has established high-level collaborative platforms including Academician Shi Xuemin's workstation, Academician Guo Yinglu's team workstation, Nancy E. Lane Academician International Cooperation Center of the US National Academy of Medicine, and Xijing Digestive Hospital Beihai Integrative Medicine Center. As an International Emergency Rescue Center network hospital, it provides international medical services to foreign patients with international insurance direct billing. As a teaching hospital of Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities, it trains medical professionals with over one million annual outpatient visits. The hospital has received honors including National Health System Advanced Collective and Guangxi Civilized Unit.
