Fangchenggang First People's Hospital is the sole tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital in Fangchenggang, founded in 1957 and officially confirmed as Grade-A in May 2020. Located in the coastal area of Guangxi's Beibu Gulf near Vietnam, it serves as the core medical institution of the Fangchenggang International Medical Open Pilot Zone, a national-level initiative for international medical cooperation. As a key component of this pilot zone, the hospital participates in international medical cooperation projects and talent training programs. It has established technical collaboration with The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and receives counterpart support from Sun Yat-sen University affiliated hospitals, sharing high-quality medical resources. With over 70,000 square meters of campus area, 800+ beds, and 1,200+ employees including 99 senior specialists, the hospital operates major departments including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Urology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine, equipped with DSA, MRI, CT, and hyperbaric oxygen chamber facilities. As Fangchenggang's designated Medical Emergency Center and Infectious Disease Prevention Hospital, it serves as the core healthcare provider for the region.
