Guilin People's Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, and prevention in Guilin City. Founded in March 1946, the hospital has developed over nearly 80 years to become a backbone of Guilin's healthcare system. As a designated member of the International Emergency Rescue Center Network, International SOS First Aid Center, and Asian Emergency Rescue Center, the hospital serves as the primary unit for foreign patient treatment in Guilin, playing a core role in medical support for visiting foreign dignitaries and major international conferences. With over 1,400 open beds, 360 senior professionals, 593 intermediate-level staff, and 286 master's and doctoral graduates, the hospital features strong departments in Rehabilitation Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, and Medical Imaging, with robust capabilities in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Trauma Surgery, and Respiratory Medicine. Guilin People's Hospital is the city's first aviation medical rescue base hospital, equipped with professional aerial rescue capabilities. It holds a National Chest Pain Center (the first in Guilin), a National Advanced Stroke Center, and serves as a core unit in rehabilitation for the National Orthopedics and Sports Rehabilitation Clinical Research Center.
