Chongqing People's Hospital (also known as Chongqing University Affiliated People's Hospital and Chongqing Academy of Medical Sciences) is a large comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and preventive healthcare. Directly affiliated to the Chongqing Health Commission, it is among the first batch of foreign-related medical service hospitals in Chongqing. Established in 2016 through the merger of the former Chongqing No. 3 People's Hospital and Chongqing Zhongshan Hospital, it has 2,000 authorized beds across Liangjiang Campus (main), Sanyuan Campus, Zhongshan Campus (Chongqing Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital), and an independent Health Management Center. The hospital upholds the motto of "Benevolence, Dedication, Excellence, and Innovation" and plays an important role in the city's healthcare system. The hospital possesses the National Clinical Key Specialty of Allergy, three National Clinical Key Specialty Capacity Building Projects (Medical Laboratory, General Surgery, and Geriatrics), six provincial key medical disciplines, 17 provincial clinical key specialties, and several specialized centers including the Chongqing Branch of the National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases, Chongqing Bone Trauma & Bone Disease Medical Center, and Chongqing Thyroid Nodule & Thyroid Cancer Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Center. In 2023, it became a national pilot unit for integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine ("Flagship" hospital), and in February 2026, the Cardiac Center was established. As a foreign-related medical service hospital, it features Chinese-English bilingual signage and bilingual accompaniment services. Its International Medical Integrated TCM and Western Medicine Department offers TCM diagnosis, acupuncture, moxibustion, and massage, with a neck and shoulder pain relief package that has served over 100 foreign patients. VIP wards on the 17th floor provide a comfortable environment for international patients.
