The hospital possesses four national clinical key specialties: Emergency Medicine, Neurosurgery, Trauma Surgery, and Cardiovascular Medicine. The Department of Emergency Medicine, established in 1987, is one of the earliest emergency disciplines in Chongqing, having formed a "pre-hospital emergency—in-hospital emergency—ICU" modern emergency medical service system (EMSS), known as the "Chongqing Model" in the field of emergency care in China, with a rescue success rate maintained above 95%. The Department of Neurosurgery, established in 1963, has over 90 beds and a state-of-the-art NSICU ward, serving as a national collaborative unit for minimally invasive treatment of cerebral hemorrhage and a training base for craniocerebral trauma appropriate technology under the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. It has outstanding advantages in early treatment of hemorrhagic cerebrovascular diseases and monitoring and rescue of severe craniocerebral injuries. As one of the first batch of foreign-related medical service points in Chongqing, a cooperative hospital of the Asian Emergency Organization, and a network hospital of the International Emergency Rescue Organization, the hospital has rich experience in foreign-related medical services, with medical staff having participated in multiple international rescue missions and foreign aid medical work.
