About the Hospital
Founded in 1956, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Capital Medical University is a major tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital renowned nationwide for orthopedics and burn surgery, simultaneously shouldering the dual national mandates of the National Orthopedic Medical Center and the National Burn Center. For nearly seven decades, the hospital has upheld the motto of "Sincerity, Excellence, Precision, Dedication," consistently ranking first in the Fudan national specialty rankings for orthopedics and maintaining a leading position in burn surgery, making it the undisputed authority in bone and burn care in China. The hospital operates two campuses — Xinjiekou and Xinlongze — with 1,700 beds, over 50 clinical departments, and more than 3,000 employees. Since its founding, the hospital has provided international medical services, with the International Medical Department serving over 2,000 foreign patients annually from more than 20 countries and regions including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, and has signed direct billing agreements with over a dozen medical insurance companies. As a teaching hospital of Peking University Health Science Center, it trains doctoral and master's students while handling over 1.5 million outpatient visits per year. In recognition of its clinical excellence and social contributions, the hospital has been awarded the National Civilized Unit and the National May 1st Labor Medal.
