China Rehabilitation Research Center (Beijing Bo'ai Hospital)

China Rehabilitation Research Center (Beijing Bo'ai Hospital) is China's only tertiary Grade-A comprehensive public hospital specializing in rehabilitation, directly under the China Disabled Persons' Federation. It undertakes important national functions including rehabilitation medicine research, rehabilitation talent training, and rehabilitation standard formulation. The hospital features rehabilitation medicine as its core specialty, with leading departments in neurological rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, bone and joint rehabilitation, neuro-urological rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation. It provides comprehensive rehabilitation treatments including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, recreational therapy, hydrotherapy, physical agent therapy, psychotherapy, music therapy, social rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics, TCM treatment, educational rehabilitation, and vocational training. Located in Fengtai District, the hospital covers over 220 acres with 120,000 square meters of building area, 1,100 open beds, 52 departments, and over 1,700 employees. The hospital has long provided international rehabilitation medical services, treating patients from across China and over 20 countries and regions. It has established cooperative relationships with Japan, the United States, Germany, Norway, and other countries, conducting technical assistance, personnel exchanges, talent training, academic exchanges, and research cooperation. The hospital has successfully hosted over 40 international conferences including the 42nd International Spinal Cord Society Annual Meeting and the Beijing International Rehabilitation Forum, with the latter having been held for 12 editions and becoming an important名片 in the international rehabilitation field. As the China Rehabilitation Research Center, it trains rehabilitation medicine professionals with over 500,000 annual outpatient visits, and has received National Civilized Unit and National May 1st Labor Medal honors.
