About the Hospital
China-Japan Friendship Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital directly under the National Health Commission, serving as the National Respiratory Medicine Center. Jointly established by the Chinese and Japanese governments, it officially opened in 1984. As an important window for China's international medical and health exchanges, the hospital has provided international medical services since its inception, dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare to expatriates in China. Adhering to the philosophy of "Patient First, Quality First," after forty years of development, it has become a modern comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, and prevention. Located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, the hospital has three campuses (Main, West, and North) with 1,700 beds, 60+ clinical departments, and 4,000+ employees. Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine is a National Clinical Key Specialty leading nationwide, with Pain Management and integrated Chinese-Western medicine as distinctive strengths. The International Department offers English, Japanese, and Korean services, serving significant numbers of international patients annually. As a teaching hospital for Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Peking University Health Science Center, it trains doctoral and master's students with over 2 million annual outpatient visits.
