About the Hospital
Established in 1957, the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences is the only national-level blood disease specialty hospital in China, bearing the dual responsibilities of the National Clinical Research Center for Blood Diseases and the State Key Laboratory of Experimental Hematology. With Haiguang Temple Campus and Tuanbo Campus, the hospital operates 766 open beds—the largest blood disease specialty bed capacity in China—and stands as the largest single stem cell transplantation center in Asia. As the leading institution in China's blood disease diagnosis and treatment field, the hospital excels in leukemia treatment, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, aplastic anemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, hemophilia, and thrombosis and hemostasis, treating over 300,000 patients with difficult blood diseases annually, with 90% coming from outside Tianjin. The hospital is the World Federation of Hemophilia International Hemophilia Training Center—the first institution in China to receive this qualification—and has established cooperative relationships with nearly 30 countries and regions, with patients from Singapore and other countries traveling specifically for treatment, demonstrating its preeminent position in international hematology care.
