About the Hospital
Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture No.1 People's Hospital is the earliest tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital in the ethnic minority areas of Sichuan Province. Founded in 1939 and serving as the Affiliated Hospital of Xichang Medical College, the hospital bears the core responsibilities of medical treatment, medical education, and public health services for Liangshan Prefecture. As a designated hospital of the National Health Commission Emergency Rescue Network, the hospital has developed over more than 80 years into the largest and most comprehensive medical center in Liangshan, holding an important position in the region's healthcare. Upholding the medical spirit of revering life and saving lives, and carrying forward over 80 years of medical heritage, the hospital serves a population of over 5 million across 17 counties and cities in Liangshan Prefecture, as well as neighboring Panzhihua City, Ganzi Prefecture, and Yunnan Province. The hospital operates three campuses with 834 approved beds and over 1,600 actual beds, employing 2,186 staff members across 40+ clinical departments. Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Pediatrics are designated as provincial-level clinical key specialties, while Pediatric Nephrology, Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic-Gastrointestinal Surgery, Medical Imaging, and Nursing are recognized as provincial-level Class-A key specialties. The hospital has established five major medical centers: Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, Trauma Center, Critical Maternal Rescue Center, and Critical Child and Neonatal Rescue Center. As Liangshan's first Internet Hospital, it enables remote consultation connections with four tertiary hospitals including West China Hospital, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Sichuan Cancer Hospital, and Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, with 8 hospital alliance partners and 21 specialized alliance partners. Serving as the Liangshan Clinical Training Center of Chongqing Medical University, a non-directly affiliated hospital of Southwest Medical University, and the Affiliated Hospital of Xichang Medical College, the hospital trains medical professionals with over 1 million annual outpatient visits. The hospital has received honors including National Medical Health Information Interoperability Maturity Level 4A and Sichuan Three-Star Smart Hospital certification.
