About the Hospital
Sichuan Cancer Hospital & Institute, Sichuan Cancer Center, the Affiliate Cancer Hospital of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), is the largest National Tertiary Level Class A Cancer Hospital in Southwest China for cancer prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, research, and education. Established in 1979, it has grown into the premier cancer center in Southwest China.
In 2021, the hospital ranked 9th nationally on the Cancer Specialty Reputation List (Fudan Version) and has been in the Top 10 for four consecutive years since 2017, maintaining the first ranking among cancer hospitals in Southwest China.
The hospital's Wuhou Campus (76,000 m²) in Chengdu has 1,520 beds and 37 clinical departments covering surgery, radiotherapy, and internal medicine. The Tianfu Campus (90,000 m²), featuring the first proton radiation therapy system in Southwest China, is under construction.
Sichuan Cancer Hospital is designated as the 12th Chairman Hospital of the Oncology Committee and the 8th Chairman Hospital of the Radiation Oncology Committee of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA). It holds National Key Discipline status (Oncology) and is a National Program for Improving Diagnosis and Treatment Ability for Rare Diseases unit.
The hospital excels in comprehensive treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, primary liver cancer, malignant lymphoma, head and neck cancer, and gynecological cancer. It operates the largest brachytherapy center in Western China. The hospital successfully performed the first CAR-T cell immunotherapy in Southwest China.
With advanced equipment including PET-MRI, PET-CT, TOMO, CyberKnife, the 4th generation Da Vinci robotic surgical system, and high-tech digital operating rooms, the hospital provides precision medical treatment through multi-disciplinary oncology teams (MDT).
Sichuan Cancer Hospital's cancer prevention network covers all 21 cities in Sichuan, with 71 counties having established cancer prevention and treatment centers. The hospital cooperates with medical institutions in the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.
