About the Hospital
Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture People's Hospital is the only tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital in Ganzi Prefecture. Founded in 1922 and serving as West China Hospital Ganzi Hospital, it is led and managed by West China Hospital, bearing the regional center mission of healthcare services for Ganzi Prefecture and surrounding Tibetan areas. As the only tertiary Grade-A hospital in Ganzi, it has developed over a century into the largest and most comprehensive medical center in the prefecture, holding an important position in regional healthcare and striving to build a top-tier tertiary hospital across all Tibetan areas and a regional medical center for Northwest Sichuan. Upholding the medical spirit of benevolent heart and skill in saving lives, and carrying forward a century of medical heritage, the hospital serves residents across Ganzi Prefecture and surrounding Tibetan areas, providing healthcare to high altitude regions. With a land area of 58,000 square meters, building area of 165,000 square meters, 1,000 authorized beds and 1,200 actual beds, and 1,093 staff members, the hospital operates 40+ clinical departments. Ophthalmology and the Hydatid Disease Treatment Center are Sichuan Provincial Grade-A Medical Key Specialties, while Pediatrics, Orthopedic Surgery, Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment, Cardiology, and High Altitude Disease Diagnosis and Treatment are among 8 specialties under development as provincial key specialties, with the National Standardized Residency Training Base covering 13 specialties. The hospital has established 16 prefecture-level medical centers including the Kangba Eye Center, Ganzi Hydatid Disease Treatment Center, Ganzi Emergency Center, Ganzi 120 Emergency Command Center, Ganzi Chest Pain Center, Ganzi Stroke Center, and Ganzi Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center, and through 5G telemedicine systems has realized remote consultation, remote teaching, and remote diagnosis with West China Hospital, achieving brand, information, and resource sharing. As a hospital led by West China Hospital, it receives comprehensive support in medical talent training and discipline development, with hundreds of thousands of annual outpatient visits.
