About the Hospital
The First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Qianfoshan Hospital), founded in 1960 as the Shandong Cadre Health Hospital, is a provincial large-scale tertiary A-level comprehensive hospital designated by the National Health Commission, directly affiliated with Shandong First Medical University, and named as Shandong Charity Hospital. The hospital was among the first to be accredited as a provincial tertiary A-level comprehensive hospital in 1995, renamed to its current name in 2019, integrating medical care, education, research, rehabilitation, healthcare, prevention, and emergency services. The hospital covers an area of over 70,000 square meters with a total building area of over 300,000 square meters, operates 95 clinical and medical technology departments, 3,099 beds, and employs over 4,200 staff members. The hospital features organ transplantation as its specialty technology, holding qualifications for heart, liver, kidney, lung, and pancreas transplantation, with transplant volume and quality leading in the province; its discipline development focuses on diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical diseases, widely applying interventional, endoscopic, and robotic minimally invasive technologies. The International Medical Department, established in 2009 as the earliest in the province, was upgraded to the Special Needs International Medical Center in November 2022, establishing direct billing partnerships with over 40 insurance companies, providing outpatient and inpatient services, overseas emergency medical transport, and domestic and overseas remote consultation for international patients. The hospital undertakes training tasks for postdoctoral, doctoral, and master's students from Shandong First Medical University, Shandong University, Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other universities, and has been awarded honors including National Trustworthy Model Hospital, National Hospital Culture Construction Advanced Unit, Provincial Civilized Unit, and Humanities and Love Hospital.
