Affiliated Hospital of Yanbian University (Yanbian Hospital)

Affiliated Hospital of Yanbian University, founded on September 20, 1946, formerly known as Jilin Provincial Hospital, is the only tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and serves as the clinical teaching hospital of Yanbian University. The hospital covers an area of 120,000 square meters with a medical-teaching-research building area of 210,000 square meters, offering 1,500 approved beds with total assets exceeding 1.67 billion yuan. It houses 58 professional departments, 34 nursing units, and 8 multidisciplinary treatment centers. The hospital employs over 2,100 staff members, including more than 350 senior professionals, over 800 doctors and masters, 45 doctoral supervisors, and 259 master's supervisors. Oncology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Orthopedics Diagnosis and Treatment Center (Trauma Center), and Neurology (Stroke Center) have been approved as National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Units. Pediatrics, Neurology, Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Urology, and Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine have been approved as provincial clinical key specialties. The hospital emphasizes international academic exchange and cooperation, having established friendly collaborative relationships with over 10 hospitals in the United States, Japan, and South Korea, and conducting in-depth cooperation with the National Cancer Center of Korea. Clinical Medicine has ranked in the top 1% of ESI world rankings for 11 consecutive years since 2014 and was approved as a Jilin Province World-Class Discipline Cultivation Plan discipline in 2022. As the medical center of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, the hospital provides bilingual medical services in Chinese and Korean, with approximately 66% of medical staff being ethnic Korean who are generally proficient in the Korean language.
