The First Hospital of Jilin University

The First Hospital of Jilin University is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As a National Regional Medical Center Output Hospital and National Research-type Hospital, it is also the largest comprehensive hospital in Jilin Province. Founded in 1949 as the Affiliated Hospital of the First Military Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, it was incorporated into Jilin University in 2000 along with the former Norman Bethune Medical University. With two campuses covering nearly 560,000 square meters, over 5,900 beds, 9,800+ employees, 123 clinical departments, and 96 operating rooms, the hospital serves over 2.8 million outpatient visits annually. It holds 28 National Clinical Key Specialties, with leading specialties including Cardiovascular Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. In the 2022 National Performance Evaluation of Public Tertiary Hospitals, it ranked 18th nationally with an A+ rating for five consecutive years.
