About the Hospital
Hohhot First Hospital was founded in 1921, formerly the Belgian Catholic Hospital (Guisui Catholic Hospital), which was the best-equipped and largest hospital west of Beijing and north of the Great Wall at that time. In October 1984, it was renamed Hohhot First Hospital. The hospital is located at No. 150 South Second Ring Road, Yuquan District, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a construction area of 166,000 square meters and 1,500 authorized beds. It has 57 clinical and medical technology departments and 2,063 employees. In 2023, it was accredited as a tertiary Grade-A hospital, and in 2024, it became the Fifth Clinical Medical College of Inner Mongolia Medical University. The hospital has an autonomous region key specialty in gynecology and 13 municipal clinical key specialties including nephrology, endocrinology, and neurosurgery. The hospital has initiated the construction of chest pain center, stroke center, trauma center, critical pregnant women treatment center, and critical children and neonatal treatment center. The hemodialysis center has 90 dialysis machines, making it the largest hemodialysis center in Northwest China. The hospital has established specialty alliances with renowned hospitals including Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Beijing Tiantan Hospital.
