Zhuhai People's Hospital (Zhuhai Clinical Medical College of Jinan University, First Affiliated Hospital of Macau University of Science and Technology, Affiliated Hospital of Beijing Institute of Technology) is the only provincial-level regional medical center in Zhuhai and the first Guangdong high-level hospital in Zhuhai. It is also the only public tertiary A hospital in Zhuhai selected as a designated medical institution for the "Hong Kong-Macao Drug and Device Link" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The hospital originated from Zhuhai Fishermen's Hospital, officially established in 1961, and renamed to its current name in 1979. The hospital has two campuses (Kangning Road South Campus and Yuanshan Road North Campus) with 2,569 beds, 48 clinical disciplines and 7 research platforms. The Medical Imaging Center is Zhuhai's first National Key Clinical Specialty, with 9 Guangdong provincial key clinical specialties including Critical Care Medicine, Clinical Nursing, Urology, ENT, Laboratory Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery, and Cardiology. The hospital has approximately 3,000 employees including over 400 senior specialists. In the 2022 national performance assessment of tertiary public hospitals, it ranked in the top 10% nationwide with an A+ rating, leading Zhuhai for five consecutive years. In 2018, it became the first hospital in China to pass both "Five-Star Hospital" certification and Smart Hospital HIC Level 6 certification. In 2019, it built Zhuhai's first 5G smart hospital and the nation's first 5G smart hospital island base. As a National Stroke Screening and Prevention Demonstration Base, National Advanced Stroke Center, National Chest Pain Center, and Central Cadre Health Base, it undertakes medical education for Jinan University, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Institute of Technology. In 2025, it was selected for Hong Kong's "Elderly Health Voucher Greater Bay Area Pilot Program" and approved for cross-border ambulance transfer services. The hospital has established strategic partnerships with Macau University, Macau University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong University, and Beijing Institute of Technology, exploring Macau-Zhuhai physician mutual recognition and referral mechanisms, hosting the "China Elderly Health International Forum" for multiple consecutive years.
