Zhaoqing First People's Hospital (First Affiliated Hospital of Zhaoqing Medical College) was founded in 1944 and is the only comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital in Zhaoqing area integrating medical care, nursing, teaching, research, prevention, healthcare and rehabilitation. The hospital relocated to its new campus in January 2013, covering an area of 339.8 mu (approximately 22.6 hectares), with 1,949 approved beds and 2,388 actual open beds. It has 17 administrative departments, 30 primary clinical departments, 56 secondary clinical departments, and 9 medical technology departments. As of February 2025, the hospital has 2,762 employees and has established 11 medical centers. In 2023, the hospital recorded 1.52 million outpatient visits, 72,000 discharges, and 50,000 surgeries. The hospital has 5 Guangdong provincial key specialties (Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neonatology, Clinical Nursing, Rehabilitation, Stomatology), 2 provincial key support clinical specialties (Medical Imaging, General Surgery), and 21 Zhaoqing municipal key medical specialties. Neurology is a Guangdong provincial key clinical specialty, with the Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment Center as a featured platform. The hospital has been certified by the National Chest Pain Center, Advanced Stroke Center, and Heart Failure Center, and has been selected as a National "Advanced Cognitive Center" construction unit and National Parkinson's Disease Specialty Center. Zhaoqing Emergency Center is located at the hospital's emergency department, responsible for critical care rescue throughout the city. As a national residency training base and Guangdong Provincial "Doctoral Workstation," the hospital undertakes teaching for Zhaoqing Medical College and has flexibly introduced renowned experts including Professor Ling Feng's team from Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University.
