Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine (The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, The Second Clinical College of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Guangdong Branch of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences) traces its origins to the clinical teaching clinic established in 1926 by the Guangdong School of Chinese Medicine. It is one of the oldest traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in modern Chinese history, acclaimed as "First in Southern China's Apricot Forest." The hospital now has 7 campuses (Dade Road General Hospital, Ersha Island Hospital, Fangcun Hospital, University Town Hospital, Zhuhai Hospital, Pazhou Hospital, Guizhou Hospital) and 3 outpatient departments (Xiatang, Tianhe, Shijing), plus a managed hospital (Doumen Qiaoli Hospital) and Nansha Hospital under construction. It has 3,145 beds and over 7,000 employees, with modern medical research equipment worth over 3 billion yuan. The annual patient service volume has ranked first among Chinese medicine hospitals nationwide for over 20 consecutive years, and it has topped the national Chinese medicine hospital competitiveness rankings for 11 consecutive years. The hospital houses the only Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory in the TCM field, China's first national key laboratory for TCM, and the first national key laboratory for TCM syndromes. It has ranked first among Chinese medicine hospitals nationwide in the "China Hospital Science and Technology Value" rankings for 6 consecutive years. The hospital has established famous doctor studios and traditional therapy centers, striving to excavate and organize the essence of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the only national TCM appropriate technology promotion base and the only Guangdong TCM characteristic technology screening and evaluation center. It established China's first "TCM Classic Ward" and the first "Preventive Treatment Center" and "TCM Chronic Disease Management Center." It is a Guangdong Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Project Inheritance Base, with "Lingnan Traditional Tianjiu Therapy" and "Lingnan Chen's Acupuncture" being provincial intangible cultural heritage projects.
