Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, founded in 1915, is a large tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. Originally established as Beijing-Hankou Railway Hospital, it has accumulated deep expertise over a century of development. The hospital features oncology as its flagship specialty and emergency care as a core strength, with its Lymphatic Surgery department being China's first specialized unit for lymphatic vessel disease diagnosis and treatment—its techniques for lymphedema and chyle reflux disorders lead internationally.
