Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, founded in 1915, is a large tertiary Grade-A comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. Originally established as Beijing-Hankou Railway Hospital, it has accumulated deep expertise over a century of development. The hospital features oncology as its flagship specialty and emergency care as a core strength, with its Lymphatic Surgery department being China's first specialized unit for lymphatic vessel disease diagnosis and treatment—its techniques for lymphedema and chyle reflux disorders lead internationally. Adhering to the motto "Benevolence, Sincerity, Truth-Seeking, Innovation," the hospital undertakes important functions including Beijing municipal healthcare services and cancer diagnosis and treatment guidance. Located in Haidian District with 1,100 authorized beds, 40+ clinical departments, and over 2,500 employees, the hospital has long provided international medical services. The Special Needs Medical Department officially opened in September 2021, located on the second and third floors of the outpatient building with approximately 700 square meters, featuring star-rated single rooms and suites. The multilingual medical team, proficient in English and Japanese, has served patients from over 60 countries and regions, providing one-stop services from consultation, examination, and treatment to pharmacy, with priority scheduling for major examinations and POCT rapid testing delivering results within 15 to 120 minutes. As a teaching hospital of Capital Medical University, it trains doctoral and master's students with over 1 million annual outpatient visits, and has received National Civilized Unit and National May 1st Labor Medal honors.
