Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As the National Designated Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Difficult and Critical Diseases designated by the National Health Commission, it is also one of the earliest hospitals to undertake senior cadre healthcare and foreign patient services. Founded in 1921 by the Rockefeller Foundation with the founding vision of "becoming the best medical center in Asia," the hospital has developed over a century the PUMCH spirit of "Rigor, Excellence, Diligence, Dedication" and is acclaimed as "China's Medical Hall."
