About the Hospital
Peking University International Hospital is located in the Zhongguancun Life Science Park in Changping District, Beijing. As a non-profit tertiary general hospital and the Eighth Clinical Medical College of Peking University, it officially opened in December 2014. The hospital's mission is to "build an internationally first-class hospital and lead the reform of the medical system." After more than a decade of development, it officially became an important member of Ping An Group in 2022. The hospital covers an area of 297 mu with a construction area of 440,000 square meters, making it the largest single medical building in Asia. It has 1,800 beds, 48 operating rooms, and 63 medical disciplines. The hospital integrates the superior resources of six affiliated hospitals of Peking University Health Science Center and has established eight specialized centers including neurology, oncology, obstetrics and pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics, and geriatrics. It has 88 doctors with senior professional titles and 331 with associate senior titles. In July 2024, the International Medical Center was officially established, providing international medical services for domestic and foreign patients, supporting direct billing with multiple commercial insurance companies, and creating an innovative "insurance + medical" service model. As a Class A medical insurance designated institution in Beijing, the hospital supports "Internet +" medical insurance services. It has been awarded honors including National Hospital Logistics Management Innovation Demonstration Unit and National Medical Service Improvement Demonstration Hospital, striving to become a regional medical center in northwest Beijing and a modern hospital of international standards.
