About the Hospital
Peking University Hospital of Stomatology, established in 1941, is a Grade 3A specialized stomatological hospital under the National Health Commission and became one of the first National Centers for Stomatology in 2020. Upholding the motto of "Virtue, Learning, Excellence, and Service," the hospital has developed into a comprehensive institution integrating medical care, education, research, prevention, and healthcare. As the National Center for Stomatology, the hospital operates 1,047 dental chairs, 363 inpatient beds, and employs over 3,200 staff members across 12 branch facilities, serving more than 2.26 million outpatient visits annually—the largest dental service scale worldwide. The hospital possesses all 8 National Clinical Key Specialty designations in dentistry: Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine, and Implantology. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, established in 1955, is one of China's earliest and trained the country's first medical doctorate in 1982. In June 2024, the International Clinical Division officially opened, spanning nearly 6,000m² with 65 treatment units, offering full English-language services and high-end commercial insurance direct payment. The hospital has established partnerships with over 40 overseas dental schools and trained international scholars from 25 countries and regions. Recipient of the National May 1 Labor Award, the hospital consistently ranks first among dental specialty hospitals in national tertiary public hospital performance assessments.
