About the Hospital
Urumqi Friendship Hospital, founded in 1948 (formerly Xinjiang Third People's Hospital), is a municipal Grade-A tertiary comprehensive hospital in Urumqi. The hospital has 900 authorized beds, over 40 clinical departments, and more than 10 medical technology departments, with an annual outpatient volume of approximately 380,000 visits. The hospital operates two branch hospitals and two community health service centers. It has autonomous region-level key specialties in orthopedics and nursing, 11 municipal-level key specialties, and 4 municipal-level expert studios. The hospital has established medical assistance partnerships with 10 Grade-A tertiary hospitals, including Beijing Anzhen Hospital, and undertakes regional diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical cases as well as emergency response. In 2023, the hospital passed the standard version Chest Pain Center certification and established five major centers including Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center, while developing telemedicine collaboration services. In 2024, the hospital led the formation of Urumqi Friendship Hospital Medical Group, covering 43 grassroots medical institutions. The hospital serves Urumqi and surrounding areas, while also providing cross-border medical services for patients from Central Asian countries.
